The Long Term Development of Elite Junior Golfers Under 14 years
Introduction
With opportunities to play and compete from a younger age more readily available than ever before, children are getting better at the game younger. With this opportunity comes a greater responsibility for the golf coach to help ensure the pupils mental and technical development, but most importantly, their love of the game and lifelong participation. Steven, Kendal and Dean are the coach / mentors for the recently created Scottish Junior Golf Tour which offers regular coaching and competition opportunities for the best Scottish juniors under 14 years of age. Several of their pupils are already competing in European and World Championships for their age group. This seminar is specifically for coaches who have similar level pupils or those interested in coaching these players and to gain an understanding of our development model and coaching beliefs.

Understand the critical role that games and ‘play’ have in ayoung person’s development
Helping parents fulfil their role most effectively in the process.
